Visitor Tracking

This is a very important feature I used to have in a previous Livechat solution, now no longer supported. Basically, the facility was made up of 2 parts. The first part, gave a running list, in date order, of all visitors to the website, with the ability to drill down into each visitor, to see the pages they visited. It would also tell you the number of times they visited. The running list was a useful tool to see how visitors were navigating the site. The second part, was the ability to attach a name to a visitor on the website. For example, if I was speaking with a potential client on the telephone and I instruct them to visit a particular page, then it would be possible to identify them on the current visitor list, enabling me to add their name to the visitor details. In the future if I wanted to know if they had been back to my website, their name would show up in the list, mentioned in the first part, above. This gave a very powerful buying signal, since, I could see there was an obvious interest and, typically, I would follow it up by calling them directly. Conversely, it is a great way for knowing if someone is telling the truth, when they tell you, they have repeatedly visited your website since they last spoke with you i.e perhaps they are a waste of time and not a real buyer.
